January ended up being a very good month overall. February started off well, but the past 48 hours have killed me. So to make myself feel better, I'll post a hand where I hit the single perfect card (although the karmic backlash from this hand is probably what has sent me spiraling).

Party Poker 30/60 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Kc, Qc.

2 folds, MP1 raises, 1 fold, MP3 calls, Hero calls, Button 3-bets, 1 fold, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (15.50 SB) 9c, Kd, Jh (5 players)

BB bets, MP1 folds, MP3 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, BB calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (11.75 BB) Jc (4 players)

BB bets, MP3 calls, Hero raises, Button folds, BB 3-bets, MP3 calls, Hero calls.

River: (20.75 BB) Tc (3 players)

BB bets, MP3 calls, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, MP3 calls, Hero caps, BB calls, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 32.75 BB

BB has Th Jd (full house, jacks full of tens).

MP3 has 9d Qs (straight, king high).

Hero has Kc Qc (straight flush, king high).

Outcome: Hero wins 32.75 BB.

The same thing could be written about me.

Today was brutally brutal. But I'm playing the Cabin Fever tomorrow, so maybe I'll end up on the boat.

I agree with raising the turn, but calling the 3 bet? How many outs did you think you had?

you cant fold a straight flush draw, can you?

plus he was live with any diamond, tons of outs....

Cabin Fever. I forgot to play yesterday, but I'll try to play today and tomorrow. At the very least it's a free cruise with lots of poker on it.

drchako, I'm actually of the opposite opinion. I think raising the turn there was actually a poor play, while calling the 3bet is a must. He's betting into a field first to act, so it's almost guaranteed that he has a J. Raising doesn't really serve a purpose there, it was just a spur of the moment thing that happens when one 8-tables looks over and sees a pretty good board for one's hand in a multi-way pot.

Also, I have no choice but to call the threebet. I'm getting something like 19 or 20 to 1, and I know I have at least 3 outs--Two Ks plus the Tc--and maybe as many as 11 if you count all my flush draw outs. He could already be full, but doubtful considering how quickly he slowed down on the flop. So call it 9 outs and I have no choice but to call.

My favorite part of the hand was after he three-bet and the other guy CCed and I called, I said, "Ten of clubs please!" and BAM off it comes. Thank you party poker!

duck, NL has taken a back seat since I was doing so well at limit, but now that limit has been kicking my butt again I'll probably go back to playing more NL soon.

I should post my limit graph from the last month or so. It would look like a big mounting--big swing up...big swing down.

My thoughts about the turn raise was that the BB was representing the J, but still may have had the K (he three bet preflop).

I don't think his call on the flop gives you any additional information, but his 3bet on the turn did.

In retrospect, I would have called the three bet, too, figuring (at best) three outs.

Bottom line - great suckout and great post (as usual). It's nice when the cards start coming for the good guys.
