I'm still alive.

The break was good. I had a few days to myself and then had family in town and got to do a lot of the "touristy" things that I don't generally do--went and saw "O," took a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, ate at a few swanky restaurants, etc, etc.

I pretty much stayed away from poker most of the time. I played a few hours last Wednesday and played a couple hours this past Sunday night but that's it since the 18th. I'm not sure a single poker thought went through my head while family was visiting.

But, I've been thinking about poker more over the last couple days and I'm excited to get back into it. It's good to be looking forward to poker again, especially with the tournament arriving. Tournaments seem to make the live games that much livelier, and it should be good for my bottom line to be ready and willing to put in a lot of focused, motivated hours at the tables.

My "work" starts up again in earnest tomorrow, for what should be a very busy three weeks or so. Here's hoping it's profitable as well.

World Poker Blogger tourney at Imperial Palace on Saturday 10th, Eric. Many many bloggers in town for the weekend.

I arrive this Sunday (4th) about 3pm. Flying upper class this time, so I should be rested when I land!

Will probably dabble at some 4-8 on Sunday in Bellagio with the aim of being up to speed for 15-30 by the Thursday (8th). If that goes well for a week, I might venture into the 30-60. Since none of the funds have been "written to book", it's all a freeroll...

See you sometime next week.

I just did some quick research and it looks like the tourney is scheduled for 10am.

Assuming that info is still correct, yuck.

I'll hang out afterwards!

Oh, and Peter, shoot me an email around the time you're coming. I'm usually at the Bellagio anyways so we can at least say "hi" or something.

Yea, I'm not real thrilled about the starting time either, but it's looking now like we're gonna be up all night Friday and then just coast in to the tourney. I wonder if I play better on no sleep and lots of liquor?

Anyway, there's a mixed game planned Friday at the (yay!) MGM, if you're interested. I still have your number, I can give you a call when we all get together.

The start time of the bloggers tournament is early, but it is "sold out" anyways....

Yeah, April, gimme a call. I can probably make the mix game as long as it's not way too early or way too late.

Sold out, huh? Meaning I can't play in a 10am tourney? Darnit, darnit, darnit. Whatever will I do.

You also have to join us for the Storming of the Castle II, where we all hit Excal and piss off the locals. I'm not counting you as a local though. ;) So expect a text message for that event, because it's totally up in the air for when it will occur, we'll just put forth the word when it happens.

One week!! We're a little excited...

Lessee here. Not sure exactly how far back you want me to go so I'll give a few years of background info...

Graduated from college in 2001. Worked as a math teacher and tutor for a little bit. Did a year of law school starting in 2002. Did a year of graduate school starting in 2003. Left that in 2004 and became a de facto professional poker player for about 6 months. Got a real job for about 6 months and did poker in the evenings. Was making way more in the evenings than during the day job, so finally quit real job in June '05 and moved out here in July.

I started playing poker while I was in law school, Jan '03 to be exact.

I have been following a site now for almost 2 years and I have found it to be both reliable and profitable. They post daily and their stock trades have been beating
the indexes easily.

Take a look at Wallstreetwinnersonline.com
