With this tourney in town, the 80/160 has been 4/8. No lie. I may have to put a moratorium on the online play for the next week. That's how good the games have been.

UTG raises. UTG+1 cold-calls with...J8o.

Five bets preflop. SB calls with...84s.

Gut-shots are not being folded for any number of bets, or heads-up in the tiniest pots. Runner-runner flush draws are golden.

Maybe I should start going on the tourament circuit. Not to actually play in any tournaments, but simply for all the side games. I can't even being to describe it.

Now I really have to get to bed, so I'm ready to dive right back in tonight.

Eric,

How long are the waits for the various games? (All the tournament tables are in a completely seperate room, right?)

I assume the tourney tables are in a separate room, but I don't know for sure since I'm never around at noon when it starts.

By the time I usually get there at midnight or a little after, the waits are often quite reasonable. I often have a seat waiting for me, or if not, I don't have to wait long at all--no more than about 20 minutes.

Clearly I will have to bring more money to the US than I had previously intended. :-)

The article on your 80-160 hand where the guy cr-bluffed from the SB is now up. Here's the link. Thanks a lot for the permission.

Interesting that you play from midnight to, what 6am?

I have always been a daytime player when I am in LV (except for the first couple of days, when jet lag dictates a sort of 5am to 2pm time zone). My problem with the madder night games is, as they say, "you need the best hand to win". I'm sure that my win rate would be higher in the night games, but for a two-week to three-week visit, the higher volatility is a handicap.

Now, give me some weak-tight opposition, with a single convention drunk sitting opposite me, and I am in seventh heaven. Give me SIX post-bullring drunks, and I am struggling.

Peter, that was an excellent article. Thanks for the link; I really enjoyed it.

I typically play midnight (or later) until 6am (or later). Last night was 2:30am - 10:30am. Once the tight-aggressive--and quite fresh--morning crew began outnumbering the all-night gambling maniacs, I headed out.

What can I say, I like the crazy games. Gimme pots that stretch from one side of the table to the other, and gimme five cold-callers after an UTG raise. Heck, if it can then be capped six ways, all the better.
